Case Study: Anterior All-Ceramic Veneer Aesthetic Restoration

Case Background
The patient presented with yellowish discoloration, uneven spacing, and minor misalignment of the anterior teeth, which compromised smile aesthetics. The patient sought a minimally invasive solution to enhance dental appearance and create a naturally harmonious, refined smile. After oral examination and aesthetic evaluation, an all-ceramic veneer restoration plan was selected to achieve aesthetic upgrade while preserving natural teeth.
Restoration Process
- Digital Aesthetic Design: Intraoral 3D scanning was used to capture dentition data. Combined with facial proportions and smile arc, the veneer shape, shade, and alignment were simulated in software to precisely plan the restoration scope, ensuring the final result matched the patient’s personal style.
- Minimally Invasive Tooth Preparation: Following minimally invasive principles, only a minimal amount (0.3-0.5mm) of labial tooth tissue was removed from the anterior teeth, preserving natural tooth structure while providing precise bonding space for the veneers.
- All-Ceramic Veneer Fabrication & Try-In: High-strength all-ceramic veneers were milled using CAD/CAM technology, featuring natural translucency and delicate texture. During try-in, occlusion and marginal adaptation were finely adjusted to confirm both aesthetic and functional expectations were met.
- Bonding & Post-Operative Care: Veneers were firmly bonded to the tooth surfaces with professional resin adhesive, and margins were polished to prevent food impaction. The patient was instructed on daily cleaning and maintenance to ensure long-term durability.
Restoration Outcome
Post-restoration, the anterior teeth exhibited uniform, bright color, full and smooth shape, with perfect correction of spacing and alignment issues. The smile arc was naturally harmonious and highly compatible with facial proportions.
