Anterior All-Ceramic Crown Aesthetic Restoration
Published On: March 26, 2026
Case Background
The patient presented with discolored, defective anterior teeth due to long-term smoking and previous fillings, which severely impacted smile aesthetics. The patient sought to restore dental appearance and achieve a natural, harmonious smile. After oral examination, an anterior all-ceramic crown restoration plan was confirmed to recover function while achieving aesthetic reconstruction.
Restoration Process
- Preoperative Evaluation & Design: A comprehensive assessment of tooth defect extent, pulp vitality, and occlusion was conducted. Intraoral photos and model analysis were performed to design all-ceramic crowns with shape and shade matching facial proportions, ensuring harmony with adjacent teeth.
- Tooth Preparation & Impression: Minimally invasive removal of diseased tooth tissue was performed, with shoulder margin preparation to maintain tooth strength. Digital scanning was used to capture precise dentition models for subsequent restoration fabrication.
- All-Ceramic Crown Fabrication & Try-In: High-strength all-ceramic material was milled via CAD/CAM technology to precisely replicate the translucency and texture of natural teeth. During try-in, occlusion and marginal adaptation were adjusted to confirm the desired shape and shade.
- Bonding & Finishing: The all-ceramic crown was bonded to the abutment with professional resin adhesive. Margins were polished to prevent food impaction, and the patient was instructed on daily cleaning and maintenance to ensure long-term durability.
Restoration Outcome
Post-restoration, the anterior teeth exhibited uniform, bright color and natural, full shape, with complete defect repair and normal occlusion. Gingival margins were well-adapted and healthy, significantly improving the patient’s smile aesthetics and restoring social confidence.
